I have been playing around with the Maps feature in iPhone and having a lot of fun with it. It is nothing short of
amazing.
I have a Niece that lives in Sparks, NV, their home is off of some winding streets in the hills North of Sparks, and is very difficult to find, especially after dark.
I typed in their address and tapped directions The feature mapped out the exact location, how long it would take and how
many miles. You can bookmark the location for any future trips so you only have map it out once. It also has a satellite
feature that showed me a picture of their home.
I bought the Where To in applications that works like a GPS and tells me where to find gas, a motel, grocery store or restaurant. or a Hospital in an emergency. A good feature. The last trip my wife and I took to Reno/Sparks, we found it difficult to find a grocery store to buy a loaf of bread, cold drinks or makings for sandwiches. Next trip we will really appreciate this. We got into Carson City after dark and had trouble finding our reserved motel. There again, this feature will be really appreciated. Too bad There isn't a way to back up the trips to yahoo or google maps on my Mac.
My daughter and son in-law have a Tom Tom, and My brother has a Garmin, and they both have told me neither have satellite image or some of the other features of Maps. Much better. I had considered getting a Tom Tom at one time, but now I am glad I didn't
